20 August 2008

Badminton is a new sport in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the national association is working very hard to develop interest.  Brane Srdic, the enthusiastic President of the association is showcasing badminton in schools, local parks, through tournaments and also with equipment donations.  National championships were played for the first time in junior age groups in Travnik in May 2008.

Here are a few photos from the efforts of the Badminton Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina to develop the sport in their country.

Badminton has been taken to schools –
  Into local parks –
And earlier this year the first national badminton championships were held in Travnik for the age groups of under 11, under 13, under 15 and under 17 –
Brane Srdic, President of the national association, intends to show badminton for the first time into 24 schools all around Bosnia and Herzegovina during the next school year.   Badminton Europe would like to congratulate the Badminton Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina for their enthusiasm and dedication in presenting the sport to new people.
