Despite a number of withdrawals at this years tournament, the changes in the men’s singles did not affect Peter Gade’s half of the draw. He faced two Chinese opponents and European challengers Dicky Palyama and Kenneth Jonassen (playing in his final Denmark Open) before meeting compatriot Joachim Persson in the final. The spectators were treated to a competitive match as Persson, silver medallist from the European Championships, was keen to prove himself in his first Super Series final.  The match went to three sets. Gade controlled the decider winning 21/14.

Joachim Fischer and Christina Pedersen on top of podiumThere was also an all–Danish final in the mixed doubles event as Joachim Fischer and Christina Pedersen lined up against Thomas Laybourn and Kamilla Juhl. Fischer and Pedersen have been in terrific form lately after winning the previous weeks Dutch Open. They continued this by winning their home event in Odense 21/14, 21/17 and will head into this week’s French Super Series full of confidence aiming for an unimaginable hat-trick of titles.   Men s doubles finalistsAsian players contested the other three finals with Lin Wang of China winning the women’s singles against Zhou Mi of Hong Kong.  Olympic Champions Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan from Indonesia showed why they are the best in the world with a convincing win against Fu Haifeng and new partner Ye Shen of China.  Malaysian combination Eei Hui Chin and Pei Tty Wong defeated Rani Mundiasti and Jo Novita of Indonesia in the women’s doubles final.   Fonte : site Badminton Europa
